Happy Tuesday everyone! Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday a weekly meme hosted by the wonderful Broke and Bookish blog.
This week it is all about books you have read through recommendation, my list is made up of books recommended to me by friends and books I have found through the Bookstagram community. Enjoy!
The Selection – Keira Cass
This is not a book I would have chosen to read normally. The cover makes it look way to girly. I kept seeing it on Bookstagram and decided to give it a go. I was really pleasantly surprised and I’ve just ordered the second one!
The Ruby in the Smoke – Philip Pullman
This one was actually a book I owned but had completely forgotten about until a friend borrowed it and recommended it to me. I’m so glad she did! Read the full review here.
The Graces – Laure Eve
I like to think I would have found this book by myself because it is so my type of book. Bookstagram just gave me that little push! Full review here.
A Court of Thorns and Roses – Sarah J. Maas
Again, a book I probably wouldn’t have picked up if it wasn’t for bookstagram. Yay!
Fallen – Lauren Kate
Recommended to me by a friend. Although I got quite bored of the books after the 3rd one, I was really surprised with how much I enjoyed this one. At this time YA Fantasy wasn’t really my bag. (I’m fully converted now though).
Hush Hush – Becca Fitzpatrick
Another recommended to me by the same friend! I’m pretty sure it was this book and the Evermore series that converted me into a fully fledged YA Fantasy addict.
A Darker Shade of Magic – V. E. Schwab
I Loved this book (and AGOS). I probably wouldn’t have found it, or I would have done a lot later, if it wasn’t for every single person on my feed having read it! Yay for Bookstagram!
We Have Always Lived in the Castle – Shirley Jackson
I had read The Lottery by Shirley Jackson and loved it. So when I saw someone post a photo of this I obviously read it immediately. p.s It’s amazing.
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children – Ransom Riggs
Another Bookstagram recommendation.
Daughter of Smoke and Bone – Laini Taylor
….. and another!
so basically this list is just one big Bookstagram appreciation post. It’s such a wonderful online community, everyone is so lovely AND look at all the amazing books I have read because of it!!
What did you think of Miss Peregrine’s? I don’t remember what I rated it, but I did enjoy it.

I really enjoyed it! A lot of people mentioned it being quite slow, but I didn’t find that 😊

I didn’t find that either!

I’m hoping to read A Darker Shade of Magic this Fall. Victoria Schwab is really highly recommended in the blogging world, and I went and read Vicious, which I LOVED. Her writing and the plot of Vicious was great. I hope ADSOM will deliver more of the same. Glad to see that you love it 🙂

ADSoM is on my list as well! I hadn’t heard of Victoria Schwab until I came back to blogging. I should have added Miss Peregrine’s…my hubby rarely recommends books to me, and that was one he recommended and I loved!

I think all of these are on my TBR or I’ve read, most probably came from blogger recs. A Court of Thorns and Roses has been my favourite so far.

Fun! I took the same twist on the topic, too. And all of these books do look very familiar from #bookstagram! We Have Always Lived in the Castle sounds intriguing, I’ll have to check it out.

I’ve read a few of these! I loved ACOTAR. Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Fallen, and Hush, Hush are some of my favorite angel reads. I kind of fell off the wagon for both Fallen and Hush, Hush as a series though. Never read the last book for either of them lol. The first books were great though. I didn’t care too much for The Selection but it was still very entertaining. Haven’t read Miss Peregrine’s but it’s on my TBR and I’m hoping to read Vicious as my first V.E. Schwab book! 😀 Great list!
